Whitney Kessling

Whitney (Wood) Kessling earned her bachelors degree in Music Performance from Bluffton University (Bluffton, Ohio).

Whitney started drumming at the age of 10. By age 13 she was performing professionally with local theater groups, and later was the recipient of the John Philip Sousa Award. Her music has lead her on tours across Europe, the Caribbean, and numerous performing venues throughout the US. She has performed with the Pantasia Steeldrum Band, Lima Marimba Ensemble, and Lima Symphony Orchestra (to name a few). While attending Bluffton, Whitney was selected twice to the Ohio Private Colleges Instrumental Conductors Association All-Ohio Collegiate Honors Band, and served as Secretary for the Ohio Collegiate Music Educators Association for Bluffton University. 

Whitney began teaching private lessons at 17, and has worked with many high school percussion programs as a percussion instructor and front ensemble technician. 

Whitney is currently a member of the Jackson Symphony Orchestra,  Memphis Repertory Orchestra, and can be found playing in other venues and theater productions around town including Playhouse on the Square, Circuit Playhouse, Theater Memphis, DeSoto Family Theater, Harrell Theater, Germantown Community Theater, and various other venues throughout the Mid-South.
